Congratulations to Melissa Menard, of our Risk Solutions team, for being recognized by Business Insurance as one of 2022’s Women to Watch.

Melissa was selected for her leadership in driving profitable growth within the National Health Care Practice and the broader organization by launching Beecher Carlson’s (now Brown & Brown Risk Solutions) Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Council in 2020. With Melissa leading the council, they were able to quickly execute initiatives and recommendations that included re-engineering the internship program, launching the Talent Ambassador Program and establishing Employee Resource Groups. These initiatives led to a more diverse pool of internship candidates representing over 10 different schools and a targeted program for Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCUs).

On Thursday, September 29, Business Insurance named 30 honorees for the 2022 Women to Watch. The Women to Watch awards program began in 2006 to recognize women leaders doing outstanding work in risk management and commercial insurance worldwide. Candidates are nominated by Business Insurance readers, and a panel of Business Insurance editors selects the honorees based on those nominations.

Profiles of the 2022 honorees will be published in the December edition of Business Insurance. The honorees for the United States will be recognized from November 30 through December 1 at the Women to Watch 2022 Awards & Conference.​
